I thought for St. Patrick’s Day I would post a photo that attempted to encapsulate my particular experience of Ireland. Little did I realize that over the course of ten plus years shuttling back and forth on a semi regular basis I had amassed more pictures than I was willing to sift through. However, I did chance upon this shot from the summer of 2008.
It was a breezy, sunny day – ideal for hiking the mountains I know so well. And after lunch atop Slieve Foye, I stretched out in the grass and spent some quality time looking up at the clouds and peering down at the lough and village below. When I dream of Ireland I dream of days like this – full of the freedom to pause and open my eyes, letting my imagination run wild.
