I’ve moved on to Villa & Hotel Majestic, a sister property to the famous Raphael Hotel and one of the newest additions to the Parisian hotel landscape. Located in the 16th arondissement – almost midway between the Trocadero and the Etoile – it features enough negative space to make you feel like you’ve hidden away in a wing of your own private chateau. It also reflects a decidedly Parisian sensibility and style: classic French design combined with contemporary abstract artwork and furnishings. The result is an entirely modern aesthetic.
But it’s the spacious accommodations will have city dwellers drooling: bedrooms feature period antiques, flat-screen televisions, iPod docks, giant beds and closet space for days; discreet kitchenettes come with a washing machine, espresso maker, and all the essentials to make you feel right at home; best of all, the master bath has a double sink, claw-foot tub, and a separate waterfall shower. Many of the suites even have spacious, private 4,500 square-foot landscaped terraces – in case you didn’t already have enough space to spread out.
To celebrate the January 12 opening, the Majestic is extending an exclusive opening offer through 2010, with rates starting at 300 Euros per night for a Deluxe room. That’s a 40% discount off the rack rates – and about as cheap as chic can get.
